In all my years at the Broad College of Business, I was told many things. But during my education there, as I looked out into the real world of business, I saw one company totally killing it, operating in a wildly different manner than most of the rest, putting others to shame. That company was Apple.
Yes, I *might* have learned a few valuable things while at business college. Maybe. Potentially. Somehow. But none of the things they told us stood up to these words:
I just want to build great products. I think if we do that, that the other things follow. I think companies get confused and think their goal is revenue or a stock price. Those things you can’t focus on and make better. For us that’s all about great products. All of our energies are on that, not the result of that.
